Penaeus vannamei is not only one of the most important economic shrimps in the world, but also is one of the main species of cultured shrimps in China, which has attracted much attention in its quality and safety. This study introduced the current situation and hidden dangers in the quality and safety of the industrial chain of Penaeus va-nnamei, including seedling, breeding, feed, processing, consumption, circulation, import and export, and so on, which were analyzed and evaluated. In view of the comprehensive and complex characteristics of the quality and safety of Penaeus vannamei, some suggestions were put forward, such as ensuring the quality of the seedling, strengthening the management of breeding and feed, establishing the safety mode of the industrial chain, and improving the traceability system, which could provide a reference for improving the quality of Penaeus vannamei, actively dealing with the potential safety hazards and the healthy development of the industry.[Chinese Fishery Quality and Standards, 2022, 12(6):50-55]
