Aquatic seed was the source and basic material of aquaculture. To speed up the development of national a¬quatic seed farms，it is of significance to boost the modem seed industry construction and the improvement of coverage of aquatic original and fine seed. The present situation of national aquatic seed farms was summarized. Problems and opportunities existed were analyzed. Countermeasures were put forward，including strengthening management，gaining policy support，establishing and perfecting the relevant laws and regulations，strengthening cooperation with scientific research agencies and improving public guidance.
